A.S.P.E.N. is hitting the streets on May 2, 2013 to bring Round Two of the much-demanded Writing Parenteral Nutrition Orders Workshop to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Last October’s workshop, which was held at A.S.P.E.N.’s headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, was attended by 23 participants. Attendees reported emerging from the program with newfound abilities such as setting up parenteral nutrition protocols, a better understanding of electrolytes, and a broader knowledge base of pharmacists and technicians. All of this and more was achieved in just eight hours.
The workshop is designed for beginners and will provide guidance on creating and writing PN formulas, compounding and stability limits, managing patients, identifying interactions, managing electrolytes, and more. Participants will be required to bring their own calculators to get into the nitty gritty of calculations guided by this spring’s expert faculty, M. Petrea Cober, Ainsley Malone, and Jessica Monczka. Kerrie Derenski will moderate.
This year’s workshop will be held at the Minneapolis Hilton at the St. Paul Mall of America Airport. Registration is currently open; for rates and deadlines, please view the event online.
Registration is limited to a maximum of 30 participants to ensure that everyone can benefit from small group access to the experts for questions. If interested in registering, please register as soon as possible before space fills up. The location of the next workshop will be announced when it is known.
