The success of the CNW Mobile Application has led to the creation of the A.S.P.E.N. Clinical Application. The new clinical application will be available as a member benefit with support on the Apple and Android platforms. Even if the user is not connected to the Internet, the app will allow users to access many useful features. Calculators, clinical guidelines excerpts, and tables and figures will be available offline. Integration of adult and pediatric information will allow every nutrition support practitioner to benefit from this Application. The application will update with news from the A.S.P.E.N news stream and link members to A.S.P.E.N.’s social media outlets with national and local chapter events. If a user is connected to the Internet, the app will allow for users to follow links to specific flyers for national and local chapter events with the ability to login to nutritioncare.org and register for these events. The clinical application will continue to evolve with suggestions from clinicians, so please contact A.S.P.E.N.’s Publication Staff with any recommendations.
Here are a few examples of what will be available in the A.S.P.E.N. Clinical Application:
Calculators
- Energy Expenditure
- Osmolarity of PN
- Nitrogen Balance
Guideline and Recommendation Excerpts
- Pediatric and Adult Recommendations
- PN Safety Recommendations
- Acid-Base and Electrolyte Management
- Glycemic Control
A.S.P.E.N.’s clinical app will launch this spring. Stay tuned for announcements and updates from the headquarters office.
