Malnutrition Awareness Week™ is September 15–19, 2014.
Malnutrition is common in hospitalized patients in the United States, and is associated with unfavorable outcomes including higher infection rates, poor wound healing, longer lengths of stay, and higher frequency of readmission.
Just in time for Malnutrition Awareness Week™, A.S.P.E.N.’s Malnutrition Committee has created an informative consumer poster titled Ask About Your Nutrition. We encourage you and your colleagues to use this poster as an educational tool for your patients. Share the poster on your Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn profile to get people asking about their nutrition!
In addition to the poster, A.S.P.E.N. is offering a number of educational programs to help clinicians understand this often poorly diagnosed condition. Participate in live events to learn more about why malnutrition matters and what YOU can do as a clinician to improve your patients’ outcomes.
